NEW YORK - September 8 2022Record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 that's a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from the year before.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He stated, "It's so exciting to once more see an increase of tourism to Israel from America, already in the process of surpassing or exceeding our record-breaking numbers for 2019". "The United States is our number one market for travel to Israel, and before the COVID-19 epidemic that was sweeping the world, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism entry numbers every month. We're extremely pleased to witness such a positive shift and we anticipate an upward trajectory for years and months to be."
Canada is not far from that of the United States of America, is poised to surpass its tourist arrivals to Israel. The country had 7,200 tourists in July 2022 as well as 6,000 visitors in August.

Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million tourists from abroad in 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they're vaccination-free. It already has hosted more than 600,000 visitors.
