NEW YORK - September 8 2022new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States during July 2022 which is an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% growth over 2019.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is exciting to once again witness an rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number in 2019," he stated. "The United States has been our most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we had record number of Israeli tourism entries every month.
Canada is poised to beat Israel's tourism arrivals, with 7,200 tourists visiting Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) said that "it is exciting to observe how Canada's travel to Israel is rebounding." "We are near our record numbers for the year 2019. We believe that this trend will continue to grow as Canadians are more active in traveling abroad.
Israel welcomed more tourists from all over the world during the year 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of them were American. Israel's official opening for all travelers was May 2018. The country has already received over 600,400 US travellers since that time.
